Flick through the history books of the UK lift industry and it's clear that the Express Lift Co. has played a role in shaping the country's skyline.

Formed 101 years ago by the Easton Lift Company and the General Electric Company, its customer base has included the royal family after receiving the Royal Warrant for the installation of lifts at the Sandringham Estate, Norfolk in 1959. Express Lift Co. advanced the research and development of lifts in the UK by building the test tower in Northampton which was designed to test lifts travelling at up to 7 metres per second.

Focusing now on providing agile services to small-medium businesses, local authorities and public housing bodies, the company and its subsidiaries have undertaken a brand makeover with new logos, film, and social media to articulate the technological advancements made to provide a personal service. The subsidiaries, which comprise a national network across the country are: Axis Elevators, Abbey Liftcare, Foster & Cross, MovemanSKG, Triangle Lift Services and PDERS. This year, Foster & Cross marks its centenary.

Sarah Dixon, Managing Director of Express Lift Co. said: "We're proud of our history and expertise in moving people safely to the places that matter. Our lift engineers are now using proprietary apps and iPhones to quickly identify problems, fix them, and provide advice to customers on maintaining their equipment, its the core of our commitment to improve the customer experience."
