Health & Safety
Safety and reliability is the first consideration in everything we do.
Express Lift Co. has achieved one of the best safety records in the vertical transportation industry by continuously training our employees and embedding safety as a core value that is intrinsic to how we measure performance. We evaluate safety as part of our Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) audits.
We have many internal initiatives to capture safety information, share knowledge, and respond quickly to mitigate risks, including our near hit programme, regular reports, hazard recognition programmes, online and classroom training, annual accreditation and we recognize our employees who share best practice with their other colleagues.
With safety as a core value, our five fundamentals are:
- Know and always follow the rules
- Always use your safety tools and equipment
- Report and stop unsafe practices
- Look after one another
- Encourage and reward safe behaviour
Our dedicated team of safety managers hold NEBOSH diplomas in Occupational Safety & Health with two of these managers being chartered members of IOSH. Our Technical Manager represents the lift industry on ISO & EN & BS code committees. Where more in-depth advice is required, it is sought from a respective professional body.
We are also accredited by the following organisations and have received ROSPA Gold Awards for our safety standards for six consecutive years:
- Lift & Escalator Industry Association (Chairmanship of Safety Committee)
